If you ever have to stop in the Homestead Creamery’s office, you’ll be greeted with a warm smile and a lot of southern hospitality by our Office Manager, Penny Prillaman.
As a woman of many hats, Penny does a wide variety of things to keep our company in working order. From managing deposits to pitching in at the Farm Market, no two days are the same. She’s also in charge of special events and projects and can be credited with spearheading our partnership in the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Virginia’s Gift of Love Spaghetti Dinner. She makes a great spaghetti meal!
Penny was born and raised in Franklin County so coming to work every day is just like coming to see family. After working and traveling as a regional manager for a locally owned chain of convenience stores and delis, she wanted to spend more time at home. That’s why she came to join our team four years ago.
“I grew up a half a mile from here and I know everyone like family,” says Penny. “When you walk through the Creamery doors, everyone throws up their hands to say hello. Starting your morning like that makes you feel so good.”
Penny loves working for a company committed to quality and uplifting the local agricultural community.
“It makes a statement that almost everything here is from Virginia,” she says.
