Nothing’s better than a bite of light, flaky tilapia drenched in lemon butter. With the light fish flavor of tilapia, this dish is is quick, healthy, and something everyone can enjoy. Served best with green vegetables like asparagus and rice!
1Step One: Prepare Fish and Lemon Butter
Being by using paper towels to thoroughly dry excess moisture from tilapia filets. This step is crucial to a achieving the flaky brown outside that we are aiming for. While the filets dry out, mix 3 Tbsp. of Homestead Creamery Salted Butter melted, 1 juiced and zested lemon, and 1 1/2 tsp. of kosher salt in a bowl and mix well.
2Step Two: Season Rub
Combine 1/2 tsp. of kosher salt, 1 tsp. of paprika, 1 tsp. of garlic powder, 1 tsp. of onion powder, and 1/4 tsp. of freshly ground black pepper in a bowl. Then evenly press seasoning onto both sides of the filet.
3Step Three: Fry Tilapia
In a large, heavy pan, heat 3 Tbsp. of olive oil over medium heat. Cook tilapia two at a time to avoid overcrowding, preventing the edges from browning as needed. Cook each side until fish becomes opaque and feels somewhat firm in the center. Lightly drizzle lemon butter sauce as you cook, reserving the rest for serving. Serve fish with the remaining lemon butter, chopped parsley, and lemon slices!
